Don Ganem, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Ganem serves as Professor of Microbiology/Immunology and Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He is a member of the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center, the UCSF Biomedical Sciences Program and the Herbert Boyer Program in Biological Sciences. He is an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and is a former member or the Tularik Scientific Advisory Board.

In 2003, Dr. Ganem was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He serves on the Novartis Scientific Advisory Board.

He received his B.A and M.D degrees from Harvard University. He underwent postgraduate clinical and scientific training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and UCSF.
