Mr. Weisel is chairman and CEO of Thomas Weisel Partners. Prior to this position, Mr. Weisel was the founder, chairman, and CEO of Montgomery Securities, an investment banking firm, from 1978 until October 1998. Mr. Weisel is a former Chairman of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Foundation. He is also the founder and largest investor in the Discovery Channel (previously US Postal) pro cycling team, formerly led by Lance Armstrong, seven-time winner of the Tour de France, which he established 18 years ago.
Mr. Weisel serves on the board of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He is also a member of the Stanford Endowment Management Board and the Chairman of USA Cycling Development Foundation Board. He received his A.B. with distinction and honors from Stanford University and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
